Alternative Energy Project Based Learning Assignment:
How can you convince your community to use alternative sources of energy?
You will work in a cooperative team to produce a Voki (Virtual spokesperson) who will speak out to the community, asking them to try your alternative resource rather than other nonrenewable ones.
Alternative Energy Sources our class will research are either: Biomass, Geothermal, Hydropower, Solar and Wind. When you log on to wiki spaces, you will automatically see which resource you have been assigned to.
With your team, you will work through the day by day calendar of tasks listed on your alternative energy resource's page (left hand side of the wiki).
You will research your alternative resource and exchange ideas and information with your group.
With your research complete, your team will write a message for your Voki to deliver. Please keep the design rubric in mind as you prepare your Voki's speech. Your spokesperson must answer the questions: 1) Where is this energy found? 2) How is it formed? 3) What types of energy does it produce? 4) How is it used? 5) How can you convince people in your community to try this alternative form of energy.
Your final product, or Voki, will be loaded onto your wiki page to share with invited community members.
